Community as a Protagonist

Across Australia, we have observed as groups of individuals, families and households are coming together “to improve some aspect of the life of the community” through a range of educational endeavours, and to “promote broader participation in those efforts”.

Through this process of reflection, consultation and action, the community itself begins to emerge as a “visible protagonist” – steering the trajectory of its own development, and exploring how principles such as unity, love, consultation and service to society can be applied to its immediate reality.

In this collection, we share some examples of various settings in which the community – characterised by qualities of mutual support, love and unity – is emerging as a protagonist and making impactful change in a specific locality.

...the community is steering the trajectory of its own development with creativity and ingenuity, and exploring how the principles contained in Bahá’u’lláh’s Revelation can be applied to the issues that confront it within its immediate reality.
