Food, prayer and performance mark 100 years of the Baha’i Faith in Western Australia

A celebration honouring the 100-year journey of the Faith in Western Australia was held in the community of Serpentine Jarrahdale with almost 100 people in attendance.

The program featured performances and prayers by the children and junior youth, guest speakers Dr Suzanne Rezvani and Hilary Abadi sharing personal insights and experiences with the Faith, as well as a special dance performance.

According to Serpentine Jarrahdale’s Athene Macdonald, the celebration was an opportunity to be inspired by the journey of the Faith and the contributions the early Baha’is had in nurturing the faith in Western Australia.

“Participants expressed their enjoyment of the program, especially the involvement of children and youth,” she said. “They enjoyed the light refreshments, the meaningful conversations and the entertainment.

“From the involvement of our children and junior youth, our beautiful MC Shamim who was able to connect and weave the program with so much love and professionalism, guest speakers, Melville Community for offering us their banners, the tech team, catering team as well as a special dance performance … the highlights were truly the collective contributions from everyone.”
