Sharing good food and celebrating inclusiveness for Harmony Day
Orange balloons hovered above tables adorned with purple flowers and rustic wooden centrepieces, as Victoria’s Bayside Baha’i community prepared to host a special Harmony Day lunch celebrating inclusiveness and respect.
Keeping in line with the 2024 Harmony Day theme Everyone Belongs, the luncheon celebrated diversity with a special program open to all and featuring live music, a presentation about the importance of unity in diversity, and a smorgasbord of food and refreshments including cakes, butter chicken curry and Moroccan vegetable tagine.
More than 60 participants attended the event, each gifted a special party favour of wrapped chocolates donning the quotation ‘The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens’.
The Bayside Baha’i community collaborated with the Nourish Program to host the event – a community program supported by volunteers and donations and focusing on dietary activities, physical activities, psychological counselling and other valuable services.
