Casey mothers rally together to strengthen local children’s class

A group of mothers in the community of Casey, located in Melbourne’s south-east, have banded together to further strengthen the moral education process taking root in their neighbourhood.

The classes started once the mothers, who have a background in education, saw the need to provide their children with a holistic form of education that focused on more than academia alone.

While there are currently more than 20 children attending the Casey children’s classes every week, the mothers recently joined the South East Community Links leadership training program to learn how to connect with wider community groups and organisations and to share the vision of the Baha’i moral education process further afield.

The group was then able to share details about their children’s classes at a recent Refugee Week event attended by more than 150 community leaders including local dignitaries.

The teachers from the Casey children’s classes made a presentation about the local activities at the recent Refugee Week gathering.

Baha’i children’s classes are designed to nurture spiritual, moral and intellectual development and to foster a sense of community.
