Minister for Multicultural Affairs sends message to Australian community on occasion of Twin Holy Days
Federal Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Dr Anne Aly, has sent a message to the Australian Baha’i community on the occasion of the Twin Holy Days – the births of the Bab and Baha’u’llah.
In the message, Dr Aly wrote that “The lives of the Báb and Baha’u’llah exemplify courage in the face of persecution, and a steadfast commitment to truth, justice and the elevating of people. Their vision – that a world bound together by mutual respect and collective progress – continues to inspire individuals and communities across the world.”
She added that “In Australia the Baha’i community holds a deeply respected place within our multicultural landscape. Through their dedication to interfaith understanding, education, and social harmony, Baha’is contribute meaningfully to the spirit of inclusion that defines our nation. Your commitment to dialogue, equality and unity strengthens ties that bind our diverse communities together.”
The births of the Bab and Baha’u’llah – the twin founders of the Baha’i Faith – will this year be celebrated around the world on October 23 and 24. Baha’is will mark the occasion around the world in a myriad of ways befitting of the reality of each setting.

BIRTH OF THE BÁB AND BIRTH OF BAHA’U’LLAH
On the joyous occasion of the Birth of the Báb and the Birth of Baha’u’llah, I extend my warmest greetings to members of the Baha’i community across Australia and around the world. These sacred days, celebrated together as the Twin Holy Birthdays, mark moments of deep reverence and reflection, honouring the lives of the Báb, the Herald, Baha’u’llah the Founder of the Baha’i faith.
The teachings of the Baha’i faith, centred on unity, peace and the oneness of humanity, offer an enduring message of hope and compassion. The lives of the Báb and Baha’u’llah exemplify courage in the face of persecution, and a steadfast commitment to truth, justice
and the elevating of people. Their vision – that a world bound together by mutual respect and collective progress – continues to inspire individuals and communities across the world.
In Australia the Baha’i community holds a deeply respected place within our multicultural landscape. Through their dedication to interfaith understanding, education, and social harmony, Baha’is contribute meaningfully to the spirit of inclusion that defines our nation.
