Prayer, food and service: Dardanup Ayyam-i-Ha a feast for the soul

More than 70 friends attended Dardanup Shire’s Ayyam-i-Ha celebration in the south-west of Western Australia, north of the city of Bunbury.

Featuring devotions, a brief introduction to the Baha’i Faith, dinner and performance, the celebration also included a special presentation by the local primary school principal who was invited to speak on the topic of ‘Complete Education for a Better World in the Future’ addressing how the Baha’i teachings aligned with her own beliefs about the education of children.

The celebration ended with the distribution of food packs for Bunbury City’s homeless population, created as part of the Dardanup Group’s Ayyam-i-Ha service activities.

Several Chinese families are currently engaged in Dardanup’s capacity-building process which is comprised of weekly children’s classes and junior youth groups as well as regular devotional gatherings and study circles.

Last year, the community held its own Chinese Baha’i Camp – attended by Chinese families across the cluster and supported by the Area Teaching Committee and Auxiliary Board members.

The Ayyam-i-Ha celebration was a joy-filled event that received a positive response from all participants and instilled the community with the confidence to embrace even more friends into its endeavours in the months to come.
